A faux wood look over a Tissue Box:pictorial

A faux wood Tissue Box: vintage elegance reloaded!

A very good morning to you guys!

Blogging (I have missed u so much :p)but  lately with all the WONDERFUL things happening in my life and welcoming my little bundle of joy has kept me super occupied ,so wasn’t able to stay in touch much ,but now I’m back to little of my schedule and happy to sneak out some time when he is asleep. So here is what I have to share with u guys,

P.s. I’m in love with all the new releases itsybitsy has got us! They r just out of the world!

I 💜 vintage.... So with regards of time to say goodbye to the DT term here at itsy bitsy I have wonderful set of techniques to share with u guys! Hope u enjoy!

So let’s begin the technique packed post!
·        How to create faux wooden pallet
·        How to create faux fabric fall
·        Dry brushing with alcohol sprays
·        Converting new product to old vintage looking
·        Hacks to shading and color blending

Take an mdf alterable

using masking tape (yes!) and stick the tape to one side of the box in a dimensional manner to create a fabric fall(i have covered 2 sides, not completely though)

now for the exiting faux wooden pallet technique .i have used the glitter foam .cut into strips.
use fevicol to stick it

add to its grungy look i have added brads on its ends before adhereing it

cover the enitre box in this manner

for the sides i used an handle too.

u could use sligtly lighter foam to  create diffrent depth to the project
i used mont marte gesso
coat with gesso or diluted mixmedia paste

this is how it should look .
i pulled the tiny brads from these flower centers (hehe)

start adding ur emblishments

stick floral embellishments , wooden chippies ,charms etc ussing silicon glue and multi medium matt and glue (the more the merrier for strong hold ) and make one side touching the faux fabric fall heavy and grundgy looking .and then coat it all with gesso again .

using charcoal spray and black paint cover the emblishemts in dark black .

start spraying all shades of brown u got in multiple coats until u r satisfied .

then used my fav alcholol splash for needed shine and suttleness

now get ur plastic sheet , spray shades of black and gold alchol spary and pick up on ur dry brush and add helights over the faux wood, repeat multiple strokes before the paint is too dry , this shall cause wear and tear and removal, lightining of shades automatically . do this until u get the desired rusted look.
once satisfied spray with varnish and allow to sun dry !
and tada we r DONE !

this is how it looks
OLD , GRUNGY, VINTAGE ,RUSTED ! just the way I like it :)

love it to the core :)

hope u enjoyed it too.
thanks for stopping by .
LOVE RASHMI
