ALL U NEED IS TO FLY : A Mix-media Album Cover

ALL U NEED IS TO FLY : A Mix-media  Album Cover

 HELLO WONDERFUL PEOPLE

The rains remind u of the sky turning from blue to black and then the sun pops to show us the rainbow ! so  beautifully designed is gods creation ! their is inspiration in anything and everything  under the sky is what I believe and all u need is a little imagination to identify your wings and to fly !

I am super  excited  to be a part of the Itsy Bitsy team and work alongside very talented ladies here and such an amazing team .Thus today  ,I Just popped in to show you my latest DT project for ITSY BITSY using their NEW release PAPER CRAFTING MELODIES . Oh my goodness I just LOVE this collection too like all their other and ,I also used a lot of other supplies from the store  to finish it off (what i created is an album cover inspired from the paper pack which is my favorite in the entire store .

lets check out few closeups first:

so for the project reveal :

THIS PROJECT IS ADORNED WITH LOTS OF HAND MADE CLAY EMBELLISHMENTS AND THERMOCOL BALLS AND SHIMMERY GLITTER .

A STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL :

I HAVE TAKEN A RAW ALBUM as base . it was made of chipboard and cardstock.... i could actually never finish it until today :)

gesso should be ur best friend while doing mix media projects as its the base for all. and the mont marte one is super thick and gives good finish in one coat .the newly launched heat tool is amazing too.

after a random splatter of the alcohol splash and glitter pour these r how my flowers look .then i cut and attached the fussy cutting from the paper pack (love the quote )

added little color (teal ) and on my craft mat i used the splash and used my brushes to color the album ,kept it pastel and sprinkled lots of glitter and used scrapbooking glue to adhere the balls and glue gun to adhere the pearl mat

to the hinge add pearl string and a satin ribbon bow. the store has beautiful collection of these satin ribbons . awesome color range too.

using foam tape and sillicon glue attach the paper crafting melodies . also add few emblishments and crystals to finish the project .

 the finished project .

SUPPLIES :

HELLO ,amigos hope u r having a wonderful day !

no. 1 : I was able to surprise my dearest inspiration (my mom) ! and
no.2  : because I worked outside my comfort zone and I'm super duper happy with the result !

This project has been on my mind since long (like the to d wish list since first when i encountered it )
and its very close to my heart as I'm gifting it to my mom who loves to stitch and loves vintage .

so I combined the 2 and created this beautiful(I'm taking the liberty to call it so ) I even used her old hoop (like 20 years old) and used it up in the project too.

so lets check out the sneak peak
These Effiletower chippies r gorgeous and MB has these at some amazing deals

The bob-in roll also stole from her sew box and that little tape too , i had do , as she never would let me use it otherwise  :P (sry mom , but i know ull love this )

the stone chain is at the best quality at the store and can add the perfect needed glam

that chic bow and also
check out the gorgeous lace trim from madras bazaar ! its totally a must have !

THE PEARLS R AVAILABLE IN THE STORE (HUGE HUGE SIZE RANGE AND GORGEOUS COLORS  )

LOVE  THIS DULL LIGHTING PICTURE -make its so soft and more adorable <3

so here is the reveal ! its to die for ! these mannequins r like the immediate things everyone should be doing as trust me these r addictive ,great prices at the store of MB so check out before stock out !

(i used a white mannequin ,I bed u cant make out as I guessoesd and then spray-painted it .it does look vintage !)
I Used a scrapbooking paper to create the pleated dress.

THE BASE is wooden with pebbles and the glass dome has the cutest ballerina sitting inside in its pose (its my collectible since I was in 4th  standard -and i had the perfect opportunity to use it )

completed the look with few more chippies ,buttons ,pearls and charms to add more vintage charm .

A faux wood look over a Tissue Box:pictorial

A faux wood Tissue Box: vintage elegance reloaded!

A very good morning to you guys!

Blogging (I have missed u so much :p)but  lately with all the WONDERFUL things happening in my life and welcoming my little bundle of joy has kept me super occupied ,so wasn’t able to stay in touch much ,but now I’m back to little of my schedule and happy to sneak out some time when he is asleep. So here is what I have to share with u guys,

P.s. I’m in love with all the new releases itsybitsy has got us! They r just out of the world!

I 💜 vintage.... So with regards of time to say goodbye to the DT term here at itsy bitsy I have wonderful set of techniques to share with u guys! Hope u enjoy!

So let’s begin the technique packed post!
·        How to create faux wooden pallet
·        How to create faux fabric fall
·        Dry brushing with alcohol sprays
·        Converting new product to old vintage looking
·        Hacks to shading and color blending

Take an mdf alterable

using masking tape (yes!) and stick the tape to one side of the box in a dimensional manner to create a fabric fall(i have covered 2 sides, not completely though)

now for the exiting faux wooden pallet technique .i have used the glitter foam .cut into strips.
use fevicol to stick it

add to its grungy look i have added brads on its ends before adhereing it

cover the enitre box in this manner

for the sides i used an handle too.

u could use sligtly lighter foam to  create diffrent depth to the project
i used mont marte gesso
coat with gesso or diluted mixmedia paste

this is how it should look .
i pulled the tiny brads from these flower centers (hehe)

start adding ur emblishments

stick floral embellishments , wooden chippies ,charms etc ussing silicon glue and multi medium matt and glue (the more the merrier for strong hold ) and make one side touching the faux fabric fall heavy and grundgy looking .and then coat it all with gesso again .

using charcoal spray and black paint cover the emblishemts in dark black .

start spraying all shades of brown u got in multiple coats until u r satisfied .

then used my fav alcholol splash for needed shine and suttleness

now get ur plastic sheet , spray shades of black and gold alchol spary and pick up on ur dry brush and add helights over the faux wood, repeat multiple strokes before the paint is too dry , this shall cause wear and tear and removal, lightining of shades automatically . do this until u get the desired rusted look.
once satisfied spray with varnish and allow to sun dry !
and tada we r DONE !

this is how it looks
OLD , GRUNGY, VINTAGE ,RUSTED ! just the way I like it :)

love it to the core :)

hope u enjoyed it too.
thanks for stopping by .
LOVE RASHMI
